4 Ways to Mix up a Margarita

May 5, 2022

May is here and with it comes one of the most popular days of the year to have a drink-Cinco de Mayo! The iconic drink of the day is the margarita, but did you know there are many different types of margaritas? Yes, there are other options besides your sad frozen restaurant variation. Here are 4 interesting ways to mix up a Margarita from POUR mobile bar service NC.

1. Spicy Margarita

At first glance, this take on the iconic drink may look like your typical margarita, but don’t be fooled-this marg conceals a kick. Instead of your typical plain tequila,  you can use a pepper-infused tequila, or have our bartender services add a special touch by hand muddling jalapeno peppers into the mix. Sweet agave syrup and hints of lime and orange are used to sweeten up the heat. Whatever way you choose to spice it up, our mobile bar service NC can assure you this variation on the margarita is sure to pack a punch!

2. Smokey Margarita

The star of this smokier cousin of the spicy margarita is mezcal. Like tequila, mezcal is made from the agave plant. The agave is placed inside an earthen oven with wood and charcoal and lined with lava rocks, and roasted down into alcohol. Although mezcal and tequila share similarities, this process that makes Mezcal is what gives this spirit its smokiness. Together with triple sec and lime juice, our mobile bar service NC can make this worldlier version of the margarita to impress your guests.

3. Black Mole Margarita

Like it sounds, this is the margarita gone dark. This rich, earthy-brown-colored drink takes its color and name from Mexican mole, a traditional Mexican sauce. Our mobile bar service NC uses mole bitters to capture that taste and trades tequila for mezcal. We then add in soda water, lime juice, and Cointreau to craft up a deliciously different take on a spicy margarita.

4. Breakfast Margarita

Calling all mimosa fans! This zestier version of the Mexican cocktail takes Blanco tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and orange marmalade. This one can be tart, so our mobile bar service NC can adjust the sweetness levels to your liking. Though its flavors are reminiscent of the classic breakfast cocktail, the mimosa, this thirst-quencher is perfect for any meal (or break) of the day.
